Wesley Anderson
Composer/Conductor/Drill Designer
Currently serving as a Graduate Assistant with the Illinois State University Band Department. Wesley also serves as a Sergeant and Musical Performance Team Leader with the 144th Army Band, where he has led over 50 missions, revived the Big Band, and conducted and composed for major civic events, including the Illinois Polish Freedom Day Ceremony. Wesley’s military education includes the Army School of Music Advanced Individual Training (earning a Distinguished Honor Graduate award), Basic Leaders Course (earning Commandant’s List honors), and Advanced Leaders Course (earning a Distinguished Honor Graduate and Distinguished Leader awards).
An active educator, Wesley earned his master’s in teaching from Western Illinois University and directed the award-winning music program at ROWVA High School from 2022–2025. Wesley doubled student participation in music every school year, secured full program funding to make music free for all students, led ROWVA to its first top-three finish in the IHSA, and founded the district’s first Tri-M Music Honor Society. Wesley’s ensembles consistently earn superior ratings at contests. Wesley earned Teacher of the Year for his district and the Illinois State Board of Education’s Award of Meritorious Service.
A summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring and Composition, Wesley was awarded the prestigious Wachter Fellowship while in his undergraduate studies. Wesley has recorded on over 50 film and video game projects, performs regularly as a jazz musician and with the Knox-Galesburg Symphony, and is an active conductor, clinician, composer, arranger, and drill designer. Wesley remains committed to fostering a community of musicians who show up, bring a positive attitude, and have fun making music together.
Kelsey Wicks
Color Guard/Drill Design
An educator, color guard director, and choreographer with over nine years of teaching experience and thirteen years in color guard instruction and design, Kelsey holds a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Alabama and a Master’s in Teaching from The University of West Alabama.
Her education career began as an instructional paraprofessional in a K–5 Reading and Math Intervention Room before transitioning to middle and high school science teaching in Alabama and Illinois. Now in her third year as Chemistry and Physics teacher and Color Guard Director at ROWVA High School (IL), she has led the ROWVA Color Guard to five Best in Class honors in two years. The revived competitive winter guard program doubled participation and placed 3rd at the 2025 MWCGC Circuit Championships. She also received the ROWVA School District’s 2024–2025 Excellence in Education Award.
Kelsey Wicks performed with the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band Color Guard and Alta Marea Independent Open Winter Guard, achieving WGI World Championship Finalist status from 2011–2014. She choreographed for the UA Color Guard’s weapon line and later for both the Million Dollar Band and Alta Marea for eight years, contributing to six WGI World Finals appearances and thirteen WGI Regional Finals. She also served as sabre choreographer for the Southwind Drum Corps (2019), which placed 5th at the DCI Open Class Finals.
She has written and instructed choreography for programs across Alabama and Illinois, including Winfield, Oak Mountain, Oak Grove, Daphne, Northside, Prattville, ROWVA, Galesburg, Farmington Central, and Stark County High Schools. Wicks has written and designed over 50 competitive fall, winter, and Division I college halftime shows, encompassing choreography, drill, and visual design for marching bands and winter guards. She also designs drill for marching bands and winter guards, including ROWVA High School (2023–2025) and Monmouth High School (2024), and has taught guard clinics throughout the Southeast (2013–2022).
Cody Appell/Mr. 309
Percussion Writer/Business Operations
Cody has been the percussion caption head for ROWVA High School for five years and has collaborated with several local high schools to develop their percussion programs. A dedicated performer, he regularly plays in honor ensembles, jazz choirs, and jazz combos, bringing energy and precision to every performance.
As a composer and arranger, Cody has written percussion music for multiple shows and worked closely with a wide range of ensembles and directors. Passionate about percussion education and organizational excellence, he combines his love for teaching with a strong focus on structure and teamwork.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Cody has served as the bookkeeper and head of business operations for Full Send Productions since its inception, ensuring the company runs smoothly and efficiently.
